Live hockey in Ottawa: every option, from NHL to junior

Ottawa has three pro and major-junior teams. Here's who plays where, what it costs relative to each other, and how to pick a game.

The teams

Ottawa Senators (NHL)

The big ticket. Canadian Tire Centre, Kanata. The season runs October to April, with playoffs into the spring if the Sens make it.

Ottawa Charge (PWHL)

Pro women's hockey, now at Canadian Tire Centre full-time from 2026-27. Fast, physical and far cheaper than the NHL, with a loud, family-heavy crowd.

Ottawa 67's (OHL)

Major-junior hockey at TD Place in the Glebe: future NHLers, low prices and an easy night out at Lansdowne. Your ticket includes free OC Transpo and O-Train rides before and after the game.

Which game should you pick?

  • First NHL game, or showing a visitor: a Senators Saturday night has the best atmosphere. A Toronto or Montreal game is louder still, but you'll pay the most.
  • Cheapest good night out: a 67's game at TD Place. Pair it with dinner at Lansdowne and the transit ride is free with your ticket.
  • Families: Charge games and weekend afternoon 67's games are relaxed, affordable and kid-friendly.
  • Value NHL: a Tuesday or Wednesday Senators game against a far-away Western Conference team.

Seats at Canadian Tire Centre

The lower bowl (100 level) is closest to the ice; the 200 level is a good balance of view and price; the 300 level is the budget option, and from 2026-27 it has a new fan zone. For the best view of the play, sit near centre ice rather than behind the nets.

About resale tickets: StubHub is a resale marketplace, so prices move with demand and can sit above or below face value. For a low-demand game, compare with the team's own box office before you buy. For sold-out games and big concerts, resale is often the only way in.

Getting there

For the Senators and Charge, read the Canadian Tire Centre guide for game-day buses and parking. For the 67's, see the TD Place and Lansdowne guide.

Visiting for a game?

Stay downtown if you want to see the city as well, or in Kanata if the game is the whole trip.
